Why Donate to Tri-Cities Opera?

Every season, Tri-Cities Opera brings three world class productions to the Forum Theatre stage. We also showcase unparalleled talent in each performance, in addition to our splendid sets and beautiful costumes. It's true that we strive to provide the best in our mainstage shows...but if you think that we're just an opera producing company, then you don't know Tri-Cities Opera! Here's just a few ways that we're woven into the very fabric of our community:

Perhaps you've found yourself in the middle of one of our wildly popular FlashMobperas around town this year? If not, you should visit Remlik's in downtown Binghamton, the official spot for "TCO is Taking Culture Out!", where you never know when we'll suddenly appear! Also, you can CLICK HERE to view several of our flash mobs in action. If you would like the heads-up on where to expect us next, you should Like Us on Facebook!

Chances are that your children or your friends' children have experienced our touring education program, Opera-Go-Round. When our community suffered devastating flooding in September 2011, we opened the doors to our World Premiere production of Seasons in the Glen by Chuck Knauf for a free benefit performance, with Tri-Cities Opera contributing all donations received to the United Way of Broome & Tioga Counties. Maybe you've attended one of our free offerings this year at our second stage Opera Center facility? We strive to offer a variety of events that are always free and open to the public. These include open dress rehearsals of our mainstage productions, Master Classes featuring our talented Resident Artists, and our popular Clinton Street Cinema Series, where our Opera Center is transformed into a fully-equipped movie theater that offers beloved classical and modern movie selections.

Our Resident Artists regularly perform and participate in many local organizations, enriching our church choirs, community theaters, Rotary Clubs, other nonprofit organizations and senior centers, to name a few! Our nationally-renowned MM in Opera Program in conjunction with Binghamton University brings new talent to our area each year, and a boost to our economy as these singers live and often settle in Binghamton after receiving their degrees.

Perhaps you've heard TCO Graduate Raúl Melo sing with Garrison Keillor on NPR's Prairie Home Companion? Or maybe you've been to one of the Metropolitan Opera's Live in HD broadcasts and heard TCO Graduates Aaron Nicholson or Jeremy Galyon on the big stage? Our singers continue to "make it big" and perform all over the world! TCO Artists & Graduates Victoria Cannizzo, Marlin Miller, Nili Riemer, Timothy Fallon and Judy Berry are all singing in Europe this season!

In short, Tri-Cities Opera is everywhere, but most importantly, Tri-Cities Opera is here. For sixty three seasons, we've committed ourselves not just to opera, but to the enrichment of our community. If you've experienced any of the above, then you've undoubtedly appreciated TCO. And you can return that appreciation with a tax deductible donation to our Bravo Fund. All contributions directly insure the continued health and vitality of Tri-Cities Opera. We have great things in store for you and our community, and we need you more than ever! The Bravo Fund help us make magic, on-stage and off.
